If no male DNA is found, then both babies are girls. Can SneakPeek determine fetal sex for each one? In the case of identical twins, if male DNA is found, then both babies are boys. Will that skew my results? Clinical studies have shown that fetal DNA clears from mom’s bloodstream between a few hours to 2 days after birth. I would also urge anyone who gets a boy result to be a tad cautious anyway as it’s easy to contaminate the sample with dads dna (eg skin cells under your nails) and things like vanishing twin syndrome can also cause them.I’ve previously had a boy. However I do not trust that the lab takes good care of our samples. There’s either Y chromosomes or not!! Sneakpeek did honour a refund on both tests and we had results in a timely manner - 6 days in the UK. It’s the only thing that makes sense to me given DNA tests are pretty conclusive. (Mistaken cords, swollen girls, poor views…) I believe our wrong result was due to the lab giving us someone else’s results. And it was embarrassing to let people know - some of whom had bought girl clothes and knitted pink blankets already!!! I still believe in the science and I know ultrasound is probably even less accurate. The result was now a boy!!! It was really hard as we were so bonded with our daughter and felt like we were starting all over again bonding with our son!! We were out of pocket as can’t return the clothes. We were offered a discount code but never received it so we just went ahead anyway, desperate to know. Sneakpeek reassured me it was virtually impossible with 99.9% accuracy and even showed me large scale studies where girl results were actually 100% right. 2 more scan over the next 3 weeks agreed it was a boy. I knew ultrasounds weren’t 100% accurate so I convinced myself it was just the cord they saw. Roll on 7 weeks at a scan and we were shocked to be told baby girl was actually a boy. I was so happy and knowing the gender really helped me bond. So we named our ‘daughter’ and bought a whole wardrobe of girl clothes. As a doctor myself, I trusted the science. We hadn’t heard of any wrong girl results so far into the pregnancy. Sneakpeek is supposed to be accurate from 6 weeks so we waited until 10 to be sure as of course it’s possible to be out a few days! We got a sneakpeek girl result at 10 weeks and trusted it but it was wrong! We knew there were cases of wrong results but usually around 6 weeks or boy results due to contamination with dads dna. Save your money & put it towards private gender test or HARMONY BLOOD TEST which are Pricey but accurate!! Or just patiently wait for 20 week scan rather than suffering by getting wrong results Don’t expect a reply or result for atleast 3 weeks & it’s likely to be wrong. Rubbish flimsy kit & absolutely disgusting customer service. That’s found in a separate link on website so majority of you will do the test wrong & get false results through no fault of your own, due to poor instructions & hence contamination of your sample. Also Instructions manual inside does NOT give full instructions as to how to avoid wrong / inconclusive result. They’re based in USA so anyone abroad like Uk are in different time zone which doesn’t help. There is NO WAY OF CONTACTING them apart from emailing and they respond upto a week later. They offer a refund ONCE YOU SEND THEM BIRTH CERTIFICATE 7-9 months later. Don’t mess with your emotions.ĭon’t buy it!! It’s NOT ACCURATE, especially early on.
